Science

Every figure has a source

No fads or miracle promises: what NutriGes suggests comes from leading scientific bodies and societies and from published studies, explained in plain words.

Science

Every figure has a source. No fads, no miracles

NutriGes and Nuria rely on leading scientific bodies and societies and on published meta-analyses. Only what we have been able to check against its original source goes into the assistant. We rephrase in our own words and cite where each thing comes from.

EFSA

European Food Safety Authority: reference values for protein, fibre, water, fats and carbohydrates.

AESAN

Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition: recommendations for the Spanish population and labelling data.

WHO

World Health Organization: guidelines on physical activity and sedentary behaviour.

ACSM

American College of Sports Medicine: progression in strength training and amount of exercise.

ISSN

International Society of Sports Nutrition: protein, timing, body composition, creatine and caffeine.

Examples of what lies behind your plan

EFSA sets the minimum protein intake for adults at 0.83 g per kilo of body weight per day.

To build muscle through strength training, ISSN places the practical range between 1.4 and 2.0 g per kilo per day.

WHO recommends between 150 and 300 minutes a week of moderate aerobic activity, plus strength work at least two days a week.

What NutriGes does not do

It does not diagnose, treat diseases or prescribe diets for medical conditions, pregnancy, breastfeeding, minors or eating disorders. In those cases we tell you and refer you to your doctor or a registered dietitian-nutritionist.

NutriGes is a general wellness tool. It is not a medical device and does not replace your doctor or dietitian-nutritionist. Figures are indicative and do not guarantee results.

How we choose what goes in and what stays out

We only use what we have been able to check against its original source: official guidelines, position statements from scientific societies and reviews of many studies. When the evidence isn’t clear, we say so, and when something is clinical, we refer you to a healthcare professional.
